No visit to North Wales would be complete without a visit to the winner of all the top tourism awards :-

Llechwedd Slate Caverns

Tour the spectacular underground world of the Victorian slate miner;  pause in wonder beside the underground lake used for two Hollywood films!

The "Deep Mine Tour" begins on Britain's steepest passenger railway (1:1.8), for a 25 minute walk through 10 sound and light sequences in an under-ground wonderland.
The "Miners Tramway" is a guided tour through an 1846 network of awe-inspiring man-made caverns of cathedral like proportions, completed by a demonstration of ancient mining skills.
Wander through the "Victorian Village", where pub and shops use re-minted Victorian coins!
